PAGI itu saya dan istri bangun kesiangan, sehingga kami menjadi penumpang terakhir yang melakukan check-in di perusahaan penerbangan Garuda di Melbourne.

Karena itu saya tidak punya bayangan seberapa padat pesawat yang akan saya naiki. Sebagai penumpang terakhir, saya melewati aerobridge yang sebenarnya untuk kelas bisnis, meskipun tiket saya kelas ekonomi.

Yang membuat saya tertegun adalah di kelas bisnis tersebut pesawat Garuda kita penuh dengan penumpang, dan sebagian besar penumpang asing. Begitu saya menyusuri lorong menuju kelas ekonomi, saya semakin heran karena kelas ini pun dipadati penumpang. (more…)

Makassar (ANTARA News) – The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has declared Bali`s Ngurah Rai International Airport safe for US airlines, a state airport management company official said.

“Only Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is recognized by TSA. Therefore, we hope more US airlines will fly to Bali,” Bambang Darwoto, president director of state airport management company PT Angkasa Pura I, said here Friday. (more…)

Jakarta – The number of foreign tourists that visited Indonesia in the first half of 2008 rose 11.66 per cent to 2.9 million compared with the same period last year, a senior official said Friday.

Rusman Hermawan, chief of the country’s Central Bureau of Statistics, said the number of foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia in June stood at 529,100, or an increase by 3.95 per cent over the previous month and an increase of 6.22 per cent over the same month last year when 498,100 tourists visited the country. Der Positivtrend bei den Touristenzahlen in Indonesien setzt sich fort. Im Mai stieg die Zahl der Urlauber nach Angaben des indonesischen Amts für Statistik auf 512 710 und damit um insgesamt 13,78 Prozent im Vergleich zu Mai 2007. In den Monaten Januar bis Mai erhöhte sich die Zahl der Touristen um 12,94 Prozent im Vergleich zum selben Zeitraum des Vorjahres.  (more…)
